The Empire Queen Taraji P. Henson is totally killing it in this cover and spread for W Mag’s August 2015 edition, #thepopissue, photographed by fashion shooter faves Mert & Marcus and styled by Edward Enninful

Playing the Cookie in the hit sitcom Empire, Henson embodies a hustler who doesn’t takes no for an answer, fighting to make it in life with her longtime partner and ex Lucious Lyon.
In Lynn Hirschberg’s piece on the mega A lister for the issue, the writer says of her and the role “In truth, there is no Empire without Henson. From the first episode, where Cookie emerges from a 17-year prison stint in a three-quarter-length white fur coat over a skintight jaguar-print mini, she is instantly riveting”.
In it Henson also talks about Cookies inimitable style saying “her style is 17 years behind the fashion curve, which makes the clothes a character on the show. As Cookie grows, you’ll see her fashion grow. And people love that—she’s a work in progress.”
The sexy, hardworking, and brilliant actress shows us a different side of her in this editorial. For the cover shot, Henson, 44, models a semi-sheer white tee, blue J Brand jeans, and bold bling from Hearts On Fire and Chopard around her wrist. Another sexy shot has her in an unbuttoned Equipment shirt in hot red, arms raised. She also in a studded Sportmax sweater dress and a sequined halter Roberto Cavalli dress in the shoot. Wet hair, a nude lip and a sultry smoky eye not to mention her come hither expression bring the heat.
