What Does Your Dress Sense Say About You?

There is the old expression that “first impressions count”. Although unfair, the likelihood that you will be judged by the way you dress even before you open your mouth is considerably high. In an ideal world we would only be judged by the character within, however this is not an ideal world. The truth is we have no choice but to package ourselves in order to convey a particular message. I am not suggesting that we become ridiculously vain and spend huge sums of money on designer labels but I am suggesting that we take care of our appearance and take the time to create looks that work for our body shape, skin complexions and personalities.
Style Tip number one: When in doubt add accessories that make a statement. Statement accessories suggest confidence. The “plain Jane” look is also beautiful but may not command the attention that you require.
Style Tip number two: Stay away from baggy clothes. Baggy clothes convey an unkempt and messy look, moreover they can add years to your age. So unless you are going for the “boyfriend” look i.e. boyfriend jeans or boyfriend blazer, or pregnant, stay away from those frumpy looks. Ditch the frumpy look for a tailored look in the style of Tiwa Savage.
Style Tip Number three: Ditch the greys and invest in whites. A lady can never have enough white in her wardrobe. They add a touch of glamour and chic to any outfit. Grey screams boring and casual and white screams sexy. Rita Dominic wears white beautifully.

Style Tip number four: Stock up on your pastel colours. Pastel colours ought to be in every woman’s wardrobe. Darker hues generally do nothing for our skin complexions.
Style Tip number Five: Prints, prints, prints! There are prints to suit every body shape. However, fuller ladies should stay away from horizontal stripes , whilst slimmer ladies can opt for horizontal stripes . The leopard print is a style than can be worn by every woman as it adds a bit more flare and personality to the outfit.  Omotola Jalede Ekeinde and Toolz Oniru look pretty in their various prints.
Do not be afraid to experiment with various pieces until you have found your style.
Be fab, not drab!
