Giving A Little Attention To Fashion Week
Unless you're a fashionista, you probably couldn't care less about fashion week. But even if you don't care about the extravagant fashion shows by luxury designers, it is beneficial to everyone. It's not so much about knowing the latest trends and trying to figure out who would look best in what as it is about what you can expect to see in stores.
You may not be able to afford the pieces you see on the runway and you may not care about what will be in stores but the fact is, you have to wear clothes. All brands focus each season on the trending colors from Pantone, the trending styles and designs and they tend to replicate pieces from other designers.
So although you have a choice in what you wear, you have to choose from whatever is being sold. Whether it's a company uniform, or a date night dress, you'll more than likely have to spend YOUR money on pieces that reflect the trends of the current season.
So why should you bother paying attention when you don't really have a choice? When you give your opinion on the runway shows of the season, it's like casting your vote for the next President. (well, not really but you get the point) If you don't like what is being displayed, voice your opinion on social media. All designers care about at the end of the day is profit. If you're not going to buy their product, they will figure out a way get you to do so. So by voicing your opinion, you've made their lives so much easier.
Of course you can always hang on to the clothes that you really like when they are no longer trending but consider what your clothes say about you. If you truly want to have a choice in what you wear, you should pay attention to fashion on some level no matter who you are..
