A pool, sounds of the ocean, a white room, mirrors and incomplete structures are the backdrop for the model who sits and contemplates, wearing pieces from the collection in its palette of deep blues and greens, natural hues and white accents and sculptural, ruffle details evoking watery depths.
Maki Oh’s collection for Autumn Winter 15/16, called Mami Wata, revealed last year, is accompanied by a short film made by A Whitespace Creative Agency and shot in Lagos, that abstractly explores the concept African mermaid.
