When we
think of "spring cleaning" we consider it a time set aside to clean
our house or apartments and get rid of the things we no longer need. However,
when we think of spring cleaning or what I like to call "auditing"
our wardrobe, it is much more than that.
Not only is
it time to sell or donate the clothes you never wear or the pieces that are
worn out or "out of style," it is time to re-evaluate who you are and
who you want to be. Personally, I believe we should do this consistently as
ideally your progression should be constant instead of scheduled. This is
because if it is scheduled, it's probably not natural.
You are
constantly changing so your look should constantly change as well. This doesn't
mean that you can't continue to wear something that has been in your closet for
2 years. It means you should consider your lifestyle and get rid of whatever is
no longer a part of it.
When you
are consistently dressing for who you are and who you want to be, you've
set your mind to be that person and people will view you in that way.
STYLE TIP: I
don't even transition my closet from cold-weather clothing to
warm-weather clothing for 2 reasons. !) If I have enough clothes in my
closet to do that, I'm not living in style, I'm living in fashion. 2) I am able
to style a lot of my warm-weather clothing with my cold-weather clothing.
