Finding A Piece Of yourself In any Brand
We define our style by discovering our inner beauty and finding a way to bring it to life. We do this by wearing the pieces from brands that closely define us in a way that expresses who we are. We will never fall into one specific style category and there will never be one brand that defines us. You will always have the brands that represent you mostbut you will never love everything these brands create. So it's important to discover pieces from other brands to fulfill the needs that these brands don't provide.
I am a feminine chic woman most of the time and this look reflects that. I am wearing an eShakti sundress that flairs out just enough for me to do a curtsy, as a lady would many years ago (I want to give a special thank you to eShakti for this gorgeous dress). These Guess chocolate sandals demand respect every time I walk, as people tend to take you more seriously when you have on heels. This Calvin Klein cross body bag reflects the softer side of a feminine woman due to its quilted design and color choice. This bold purple lip color from The Lip Bar speaks purple royalty and every woman should be treated as royalty.
Although I love my look, these brands don't necessarily reflect me. eShakti caters to a large variety of women so I'm probably not their ideal client. I'm far from being a woman who desires to be like everybody else but I love the color and look of this dress and everything looks different on different people. Guess targets sexual women who love attention and that's not the image I want to present to the world but I can be that woman sometimes and that's why I love some of their pieces.
Calvin Klein caters to a sophisticated lady, which I can be many times as well so that's why I love this bag. It represents the intelligent and wise woman that I am. The Lip Bar caters to the party girl who loves to get glam when going out. I'm not a party animal but whenever I go out, I plan to make the most of my night and a bold lipstick is all the makeup I truly need to get excited.
Many times when you shop, you'll get excited about a piece that you think is perfect for you but then there's something about it that doesn't work. This will happen more often with brands that don't truly define you because you're shopping outside of you element. As long as the issue doesn't get in the way of your image and you feel beautiful and confident in the piece, I would still purchase the item because it's rare that you'll find pieces from any brands that are "perfect" for you.
For example, I love this eShakti dress but the side zipper starts below the armhole so it's very difficult to put on. Yet, once it's on, it fits perfectly. I also feel beautiful and confident when wearing it. However, this issue will cause me to wear this dress infrequently because I probably will only wear this dress when I have someone to help me put it on. Fortunately, I am excited about this brand and next time I will be sure to select an item that doesn't have this issue.
When your style truly reflects you, it will become natural for you to find a way to make any brand express who you are without defaming your image. It's important that through this process you don't involve yourself too much with any brand that brings a negative connotation to you and your image because people will start to associate you with that brand. You will also slowly find yourself becoming the woman that the brand caters to. It's just like when you spend too much time with one person, you start to speak and think like them. Dress for who you are and for who you are becoming, regardless of the brand.
